www.eatingsdisorders.com Food addiction is a reality for many people. Is this due to hereditary factors, social pressure or learned behavior? What ...
I just want to stop thinking about food! Its my most dominate thought :(
Get some hobbies. Start collecting things, practice singing, painting, etc. Then, whenever you feel hungry or start to think about food, change your mind and start thinking about the type of thing you would like to add to your collection next (i.e. if you decide to collect StarWars videos, think about which one you're going to buy next, where you're going to buy it, etc.).
Good luck!
can this also cause problems during recovery, because even if you stop trhowing up or spitting out food, you end up eating too much? (please pay special attention to spit in chdw, which is my main focus)
They can binge eat. I have major weight issues, where I'll fast for weeks at a time and then binge on food for an entire week, gaining nearly 10 pounds. It's an awful cycle, but I've learned to accept it.
If you recover, I'm sure a counselor can help you deal with the situations more properly. The more you talk to them, the more they can decide what's the best method for you. It all comes down to your own self control, really. It's not easy at all, though.
I am using blogger.com for my blogs and it is time to add meta tags. I tried the below and I kept getting a message from blogger that the changes to the template could not be saved because they were not parsed correctly. What does parsed mean? What is wrong with this code? Can you give me directions on how to correct the code so blogger.com will accept it?

is it better to eat a healthy diet and splurge 1x a week on a fast food meal, or completely avoid it? I don't want a small spluge to turn into a bad cycle all over again.
I know it's very hard for a smoker or a drinker in recovery to have "just one." Is it the same for food?
Not a splurge but a binge is bad.. one fast food isn't going to throw you off unless you let it. When you eat healthier the fast food makes you sick to your stomach anyways. Its better for you to try and find out its not good tasting anymore then to crave it.
How My bRecovery/b with bFood Addiction/b Led Me to Weight Loss | oomphTV
My name is Linda and I am a food addict! “A what?” you may ask, which is just what my husband asked when I told him. Yes! I am a food addict; I am addicted to food.
One year ago, this month, I began a journey that took me to a beautiful, peaceful, healthy new place…the place where I now reside…in my right sized body! In 6 months I lost 55 pounds, 40 of which I’ve carried around, thus far, through my entire adult life. Since high school I’ve been overweight and for the last ten years, although it’s hard to say, I was obese. The failed weight loss attempts over the last decade left me feeling powerless, moneyless, and depressed. Last year, I was turning 40, living with high cholesterol, wearing a size 16 and resolved that this was just the way it was going to be.
Food had a stronghold on my life; I was addicted to it and still am, but I have learned to utilize tools that help me keep it in check, one day, one meal at a time. I found a solution! Well, no, it found me—while sitting on a couch at a party in the Hollywood Hills. I had been observing a close friend experiencing gradual, yet steady weight loss.
...Comfort bFood/b, The New Crack Cocaine For Teens.
Teens today face many challenges- social, Physical, and emotional all of which are compounded by the ever increasing peer pressure they encounter at school. A teens social status may be dependent on his or her physical appearance. In this generation, a healthy weight is pretty much social suicide - bone thin is in, and there is no end to which some teens will not go to become thin/acceptable, even to the extreme of straving themselves, only to binge on all manners of food - comfort foods mainly.
The concept of food addiction is alien to most people, because drugs and alcohol seem to dominate that arena. However, addiction is in essence the over indulgence or abuse of any substance including food. Many experts including overeaters anonymous...
