I disgust myself and am hideously fat. Yet I cannot stop eating fast food. I feel so good after I eat a large order of fries and a big soda. I eat a large fast food combo at least once a day. I'm 6'0" 220 lbs and on the rise and need help. What can I do? It's not as simple as just not going there.....I'm drawn in somehow and feel guilty everytime after I eat, but yet I still do it.
Take fruits & salad in place of it

Im not exceptionly overweight. But if I dont stop my craving for Mcdonalds, Taco Bell, Jack In The Box, etc.... then Im going to gain a lot of weight, become more unhealthy, and possibly put myself in a lot of danger health wise. I need help overcoming eating things from fast food, or ready made dinners....they are easy and convienent...i wouldn't say they are the most TASTIEST....but definately fast & easy.
First things first: go to a grocery store and shop for a LOT of stuff to have ready at home. I used to have the same problem because I would look in the fridge or cabinets at home and not find anything particularly appealing to me, so I'd go out for food. Another reason people choose fast food is because it's so simple and easy (i.e. FAST food, lol), but you can combat this issue by buying ingredients for things that are easy to make and don't require much time: grilled cheese sandwiches, lunchmeat sandwiches, ramen noodles, burgers (if you have a grill, they are a good alternative to fast food, plus you get to make it taste the way you want with good spices), pasta and good sauces (VERY easy), those ready to cook meals (sorry I forget the name, but they come in a box with everything in it, and all you have to do is throw it together basically and put it in the oven). Again, just find simple stuff to cook and it'll help you resist the urge. Good luck.
PS: make sure you get some cookies. :)
It's really hard for her because she actually is addicted to fastfood and shes already mobidly obese . I don't want to see her get sick anymore and its bad for her children also . And she is willing to accept help from me but i'm only a teenager and i just want to inspire her to become healthy and happy.
Maybe have her take a look at what I eat?... Write this down babe...
I’m a Vegetarian and I’m super thin, and I always have a lot of protein, and I hate tofu loll ...and I have tons of snacks to choose from
I bareeeely work out ....and I’ve never had a belly, big thighs, or big butt SO Listen k? I'm pretty much perfect-its not cocky,i just am...
Walk Walk Walk! and walk some more...its actually better than running....running makes your ankles weak over time. Do you want that when your older? I don't think so. I actually do the bike, which is amazing...the faster you petal the more calories you burn....the belly is actually burning fat b/c you are sweating. Not a lot of ppl. know that walking on treadmill/bike/or walking outside burns fat around the mid section...but it is so true. ALSO IMPORTANT: Do not use incline k? b/c your thighs will get bigger...try little to no resistance!! :) Walking also will burn the extra surrounding fat that is covering muscles (underneath it)...so definitely do a lot of carido. Try sit ups too like 2 to 3 times a week to make abs show quicker!
Being a vegetarian or even one that eats red meat or dairy like ONCE IN AWHILE is the best to be one because you are healthy as a horse and you won't have that excess fat and food inside your intestines that most red meats do.
Look, alright, I’m not trying to promote becoming a vegetarian, but here me out k?
Here's what I eat and my protein is perfect and I'm super healthy and have tons of snacks to choose from
Having a high protein diet is good in loosing fat, because the more protein is in a food item the less total fat and calories from fat!
I eat lots of beans (Lima, Soy, red kidney, black, navy- RAW; never in can(but that is just my choice-if you wanted canned its NOOOO PROBLEM)
Try Quinoa too, you can find it in your grain, beans, or nut aisles
I also eat lots of salad with tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, carrots-yum yum!
The entire kosher aisle has manyyyy products to munch on!
Also, Some Kashi products are great to snack on!
Try Edamame too!- tons of protein and tastes delicious! (Veggie section even though it’s a bean loll)
Dairy (if you eat it): cheese-I'd suggest you go for this yogurt called "Fage 0" or "Chobani" yogurt (it has about 15 grams of protein in it I believe)... Ummm lets see, what else? Theres Goat cheese and ALL goat products which I consider to eat if my protein is too low (but that is rare b/c I usually get my protein in evvveryday.
ALL vegetables are fun and easy to cook-I like broccoli, asparagus, yams, pumpkin, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower-and you can do whatever you want with it (fry, boil, steam, baked...etc.)
Have you ever heard of Matzo's? they are crackers that have 4 grams of fat per serving (1) and only has 21 grams to 27 grams of Carbs in it depending on which version you get. BUT make sure you get the 100% whole wheat ones ya know?-just to be the healthiest. There is also absolutely no sugar in it either (sugar if not burned turns into fat btw)…..
The calories range from like 90 to 140 calories too! Oh, did I mention they are extremely delicious!? (Kosher aisle)
Mott’s applesauce, no added sugar is one of my favorite things to eat too!
You can find organic applesauce too which provide different flavors without added sugar
All “no added sugar” products are phenomenal
NOTE: BEEF, Oh my god -it is very bad for you and does not leave your intestine for months and months (look it up on internet...it’s the worse food for you-unless used in moderation and VERY VERY small portions)
Brown rice or even white rice is great too
Miso soups are fantastic as well as any other soups (especially the ones with very little sodium)
Fruit is ALWAYS a great snack at night!
Ok, that’s all I can think about now off the top of my head, if you need to know anymore then just message me k?
Take care
(I know I went on a rampage here, but I honestly hope this helps!)

its for a school project and im just wondering if theres some sort of a chemical that makes it so addictive. Or if its just the taste or something? any answers guys?
well when your saying that when all that salt and sugar, is that really what the substance found in fast food is so addictive? so instead of it being fast food thats so addictive it is actually sugar?? am i getting this right?
Our bodies still retain some evolutionary "throwbacks" to crave what fast food has high contents of...fat, salt, and sugar. We do need all of them in moderation; sugar for energy to hunt and work, fat to protect from cold and cushion our muscles and bones, and salt to regulate crucial biochemical reactions. But in nature, these commodities are quite scarce. Sugar does not grow well in the wild. Honey is a sweetener but of course, before modern beekeeping techniques evolved, collecting it was hazardous.
Likewise, in early nature there were not very many sources of salt readily available. Seawater was (and still is) hazardous to drink because of all the nasty microorganims living in it, and there was high competition for the few "salt deposits" available from the many animals who also needed it.
As for fat, it's also hard to get in the wild. Some vegetables have very small amounts of fat, but the best source is from animals, which were quite difficult to hunt in pre-industrial times.
The human body both craves and stores all this fat, sugar, and salt very well. Unfortunately, humans have not yet evolved to the point where, now that these resources are in high abundance, they can eliminate them as quickly as they are taken in. Nature has trained our bodies to hoard these once-scarce biocommodities. But nowadays, since many of us take in so much more than our bodies need, these are often stored as extra fat. But that doesn't stop the cravings.
I'm hooked on Taco John's! Thanks little monkey dude. I'm not lazy either. I have to drive about an hour to enjoy it occasionally.
5 Cartoon Characters With Dangerous bFood Addictions/b | Gunaxin
All of us, animated or not, need to eat. For cartoon characters, food is especially important. Without the nutrients that food provides, cartoon characters wouldn’t have the energy to fight bad guys, make jokes, solve mysteries, beat each other up, or enact any of their crazy schemes. After a long day of rapid one-liners, quick changes, and hare-brained plans, most cartoon characters can sit down and enjoy a well-prepared meal with friends. For them, food is a rare pleasure in a hostile world of falling anvils, archenemies, and portable holes. For others, it’s a multicolored nightmare.
For all too many of our most cherished animated friends, food is the animated equivalent of 200 kilos of uncut Peruvian Flake. A terrible joy and a beautiful hell. Whether driven mad by cartoon physics or thrown into despair by backgrounds that never seem to change, these unlucky anthropomorphized animals and two-bit sidekicks turn to food to combat their looneytunian loneliness and Hannabarbarian dread. Locked into an endless cycle of binges, they shuffle across the celluloid, more animal than man- except when they are animals, in which case they are, we don’t know… more plant than animal? Anyway, it’s not good. These are the Top 5 Cartoon Characters with Dangerous Addictions to Food.
...OBESITY PANACEA: Salted bFood Addiction/b Hypothesis may explain b.../b
An interesting article was published earlier this week on the website of the journal Medical Hypotheses, suggesting that the current obesity epidemic may be caused by salt addiction. The article is provocatively titled " Salted Food Addiction Hypothesis may explain overeating and the obesity epidemic " and as you might expect given the journal that published it, it is wildly speculative. Now I'm just going to say this upfront - I think the authors are probably wrong. But it can be fun to speculate, and I did learn some interesting things from the paper, so I think it could make for some interesting discussion. In other words, salt intake may affect opiate receptors, just like certain drugs. To test this theory, the authors performed a truly novel experiment - they examined whether people going through opiate withdrawal increased their intake of salty food. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell they didn't actually measure salt intake , which seems...
