I am Very addicted to You tube,E-mailing,and talking online.
Are there any ways for me to stop being addicted to the computer?
Wean yourself off the internet then try disconnecting it for some time (like a week or 2) and when you get it back only use it for a certain amount of time. I'm addicted to the internet too. I feel so anxious when I don't have it. Its not about what you do on the internet its just the need to get on it. URGGGHH. While you're not on the internet try completely occupying yourself or wear yourself out to the point where you just fall asleep.. no time for internet haha I dont know it sucks :( I think im going to try to wean myself off of it too. soon.
A satire on the concept of people getting addicted to computers, the computer gets addicted to the user. A stop motion film for a college class.
I admit, I'm addicted to going on the computer and I wish to stop. Now I don't need any, "Shame On You" posts because that's only going to make it worse. I'm asking about how can I stop my addiction of computer use? Help me, thanks.
*Try focusing on other things in your life....Hobbies...Take a walk...Talk to a friend...Or go to Computer Addictions.com..Good Luck friend*
I just got done reading a book for school and now i'm online and it's 2;30 am lol I hope we have another snow day!
Replace it with something that is also fun, but more favorable to you, like sports, collecting something, or reading.
Also, these Firefox add-ons can limit your browsing time, if you're not interested in giving up on your computer entirely.

My entire life is slipping away.
That's happening with every other person. The first thing to do is shut down this computer and go out for a walk. Talk to anyone you meet. Watch T.V., and do anything else in your free time instead of running towards the computer
I am addicted to my computer! =(
I am a 15 year old athlete with a good shape body etc. but i find that i am addicted too the computer too much and it seems like i am wasting so much of my time online when i can be doing other things!
Time has been going fast like crazy!!!!!
I have missed family parties, hangouts etc. just to be on the computer....
how can i stop?
how** can I stop a computer addiction?
It's you who can help your own. You can set a limit on using your computer. Set a time for how many hours you want to spend in computer everyday and you must follow this. Or try to think other things which can help you forget your computer. Like going to gym, or joining your other friends. You can also try to have meditation. This is also good because you can forget your computer and it can help your mind to be relax and out of stress.
Porn on Teen#39;s bComputer/b
A mom wonders: I’m wondering how other parents feel about their kids having their own computers/laptops and having access to internet porn? We got our son his laptop (for school) just before he started college and I recently discovered he has many "questionable" sites he has been visiting by looking at his browser history. He normally has his computer shut down and has his own passwords so no one can get on it but one day it was just there on his bed and it was not shut down so I checked his website history out of curiosity. With all the other issues we are dealing with I really don’t know how to approach this one - or if I even should. He is 18 and it is his computer so it’s not like I can filter anything anymore. Should I try and talk to him about it or leave it alone?
My son too, started looking at porn sites. He’s 15 so I took an active stance against this. It has been proven over and over that the internet, internet porn, internet gaming, and just surfing the web can become addictive. But that aside, porn gives a young inexperienced person a totally UNREALISTIC view of what sex between two loving people should be about. I explored the sites my son was visiting so I could arm myself before I spoke with him and I dare say if you could see what your son has access to I’m pretty sure you would be quite shocked. These sites were nothing but degrading to women. Eighteen or not I hope you take a pro-active stance against this.
...I Have an bAddiction/b - Cheap Ass Gamer
Search Bar
This search bar is a powerful tool for navigating CAG. You can use it to find the lowest prices on games, search members, forum and blog topics, and much more.
After typing in what you are looking for, you can filter your results by clicking on one of the tabs that pops up from the top of the search bar.
Tips Looking for a game on a specific platform? Type in the platform name with the title! I know, I hate the feeling too. You keep buying more games because the prices are too good to pass up and the backlog keeps getting bigger and bigger. I think of it like this, if sometime down the road there is a lack of good games coming out, at least I have a decent backlog that should last me a few years until there are some good games again
) I started at CAG because I heard about it online and thought it would be great to save some money on games. I, in the past, had found a few games for pretty cheap, anything under $15 I considered cheap for a game. I always thought coming by those deals were few and far between. So, I thought the site would help me find a couple games I want, maybe have some coupons to use, etc. but, I was never expecting to learn the inside secrets like I have and be able to get games for as low as $2 and $5 on a regular basis. Gaming is definitely not a cheap hobby and buying all the games you want can be a huge expense, so, when you can find deals on games like the ones posted on CAG it is just crazy to pass them up, especially on games that you really want. If it is a game you plan to buy anyway, why pay more for it to avoid adding to the backlog or spending a few more dollars. This is just the way I look at it. Obviously if it gets to the point where you are spending more money than you make or you aren't paying bills, etc. then it can be a real issue. But if you have the money to spend and are getting games that are between $30 and $60 for considerably less, it is really an easy decision. I, however, need to be more aware when buying games. It has been so exciting to find games at these prices that I buy anything when I see it really cheap. As a result I now have a stack of games I'm wanting to trade, prior to this point I've only traded one game (and this was at the beginning of the month) So, I just need to consider games more before opening and decide if it is really a game I want, or if it something I just want because it is cheap. I'm working on my backlog, I've solved a few already. It is a slow process, but every time I get one completed, it is a great feeling. I have solved one game that I purchased since becoming a CAG and all the others I at least try to make sure I like it before setting it in the backlog. I still have a couple of games I haven't played yet, but I'm getting to them, the other titles all have less than 1 hour of play time involved because it was just a test and are now waiting with the rest of the backlog. And stop forcing a square peg into a round hole. Buy games when you need something to play, not buying mediocre games because they are cheap. Unless you are buying these games specifically with collecting in mind. I used to be really bad with buying games I thought I wanted and then not playing them. Now I only buy games when I am nearing the completion or am getting tired of what I have in my drives. Its so bad. I just got a PS3 in december and already have 26ish games (plus 4 PSN network games). That does not include the 9 games I got rid of before. Than add that to my 360 title which dramatically altered (got rid of around 20 games for that this summer, than picked up a bunch as well). Than there is also my wii collection which grew +8, but lost 8. I am totally in the same boat! I also have a pretty big backlog of games. However, I just don't buy games because they're cheap. I try to only buy the games that I like and have gotten decent reviews (or at least recommended by others). That said, my backlog got a lot worse when I found out about CAG. I get lots of great deals here but the #1 root cause of my backlog is...[drum roll]...Target clearance prices (especially 75% off). Living in So Cal and being surrounded by so many Targets + Target thread on CAG = increase in my backlog of games! Thank you CAG!!! I had this problem for the longest time, luckily this girl I am talking to has helped me break that habit. I would by anything and everything for my 360 for $10, it didn't matter if it was a great game or if it was Pimp My Ride. I am extremely grateful to her for helping me kick that habit since I had about 180 360 games and I had only played half of them. Of that half I played, I only enjoyed probably about 20-30 at most and never touched any of them again. Now I only buy clearance/sale games that I am actually interested in and it has saved me a few hundred dollars easily. My suggestion would be to avoid checking the deals section as often as possible (I check it once every few days unless it is something I want on the front page) and I don't think I have slipped once since I decided to do this, though I was very tempted many times.
