- -Everytime i go to san francisco there is bums everywhere.

Tweak is about a meth user.

Coke is pretty much passe in SF right now.

Yes, there are a lot of homeless people. They are not cocaine addicts.

Theres this gay kid in my class and he's gross and he is rlly gay he told me and he's like 15 or 14 and he has a long dirty pinky nail (he's a poser bc he is homeschooled. and nerdy) anywho so i asked my mom about it and she said it is what cocaine addict have so why do they have it im asking?

Has anyone expierienced being in a relationship with a cocaine addict who treats them well one minute then hates them the next? Why do they get so hot and cold?

Yes I have, I was married to one. You get to the point of watching to see what their mood is before you know what mood you are in. Walking on egg shells is a hard life. Cocaine, alcohol, any addiction will cause mood swings in a user, because these drugs keep the chemical balance in the brain out of whack. As the time of use gets farther a way the brain starts to return to normal and then they use again and the cycle starts over. I finally had to get a divorce after standing by him going to rehab over and over. When I finally got the divorce, the drug addiction completely took over his life. He ended up in prison and he passed away in prison due to heart failure from the damage he had done to his heart with the cocaine use. Living with a drug addict will start to destroy you and if he does not go into recovery you will eventually have to make a decision if YOU can survive his addiction, and you may have to leave. You will never be able to make him change, you can only change and help yourself. Go to any group meeting that you can, find support from a church, Alanon, codependents anonymous, read every self help book you can on this subject. Say a lot of prayers and keep your own sense of identity, because your life will always have chaos as long as he uses. Be really careful of being around him because if he is arrested with drugs on him you can also get in trouble with the legal system. Good Luck and I wish you and him both the best in life.

Obama looks skinny on TV but in person he looks even skinnier. Why are cocaine addicts so skinny?

Not all thin people are cocaine addicts...be careful not to generalize. Also having used a drug in the past (or recently) does not an addict make..again, you're generalizing (bad habit).

Cocaine typically kills the appetite (if not the user)...the person generally wants more of the drug, food and beverage aren't so important.

What does cocaine addiciton have to do with Elections? Watch your categories next time...

conservative estimates have put the cost at £14 billion, but it could actually be many billions more, the illegal drug market is funding criminal and terrorist groups, money spent on heroin is buying guns to shoot UK troops in Afghanistan, now we know prohibition has failed isn't it time to consider other ways to deal with drugs like regulation?

(ANS) YES! these estimates of how much drug crime costs the UK and UK citizens (let alone the time & cost to pay for the police force, prison service, and the HM customs & revenue). Is mind boggling and YES! a new approach is required. I do think the options are rather limited

No.1 You could make ALL drugs legal and that "might" reduce greatly the crimes committed to fund people with drug habits, & possible have a nock on effect on things like turf wars & associated gun & knife crimes. But on the other hand politically this looks very negative as there is the risk of seeing an increase in the numbers of people with drug addictions and it also looks like the government gave into organized criminals & funding for terrorists.

No.2 I think perhaps the only other option is equally unattractive which would be for the government to attempt to control ALL methods & avenues of drug supply. i.e. the government itself becomes the only source of supply for drugs of any kind. This way the drugs themselves would be of a known & pure quality and doses could be tightly controlled and drugs could even be taxed (earn the government an income). This would remove the large profits made by illegal sources but that might put the UK government in conflict with the illegal drug lords in other countries.

**I think its a horribly complex dilemma and I think there are no easy or quick or obvious answers to the drug issue. Like any commodity (drugs are a commodity) in a capitalist system its also a question of supply & demand too. If you could reduce end users demand you might be able to reduce the supply chain but its not that simple I suspect.
