Where can I find a list of reports, surveys or statistics about alcohol and drug addiction?

I'm looking for more sources about alcohol and drug addiction because I'm finishing my homework. I really love the topic and I really want to present a nice report. I'm not doing this just for the grade but I'm also doing this as a way of spreading awareness so that my classmates will not turn out to be alcoholics and drug addicts.

What a nice student! I really admire your desire of spreading social awareness. I've posted two links below to help you with your report. Try to do a good job, okay? Be a role model to your classmates. Keep it up!

Do you think it would be good to have a category for questions about drug and/or alcohol addiction on Y!A ?

I have suggested that YA adds a category for people seeking answers about, or help with/ drug and alcohol addiction. I think an anonynmous forum such as YA provides would be excellent for people seeking answers or help, especially young people who may be afraid to talk to their parents or others about it. What do you think? If you agree, maybe you could give me a "thumbs up" on my suggestion to help it get noticed by the powers that be.

Thank you for your time and attention on this vital issue.
Thanks to all who answered. I had hoped for far more feedback, but everything happens like it is supposed to I guess...

I very seriously doubt Y!A would do it, but I think its a great idea! I think it would be great for ppl to talk freely about their addictions. I gave you a thumbs up, I hope Y!A will consider it.

What is the Holistic Approach to Drug and Alcohol Addiction Treatment and Recovery?

I heard some kids in school talking about a holistic approach in relation to drug and alcohol addiction. Does anybody know more about it? I'm just interested.

I think it's a special program given to people who are suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction. They provide treatment and services to help the patient recover faster. There's a website about the Holistic Approach. I added the link below. It's really informative.

  • Denial In Drug And Alcohol Addiction Is A Serious Problem

Denial in drug and alcohol addiction is a serious problem. Drug and alcohol addiction can strike virtually anyone. Despite common stereotypes, it doesn't limit itself to a certain age, sex, race or socioeconomic status. This problem is especially challenging to deal with because many addicts/alcoholics get stuck in denial and refuse to admit their problem or the effects it is having on them and the people around them. By not admitting the problem, they can avoid facing the need to stop using the drugs. Denial can be the fatal aspect of addiction. This is true because it leaves the addict/alcoholic vulnerable to taking greater risks for longer periods of time. It impairs judgment and results in self-delusion, preventing the addict/alcoholic from seeing and understanding the implications and consequences of his or her behavior until it is too late. Even documented evidence to the contrary won't persuade the individual differently. People honestly do not know when they are "in denial." It’s...
